With over 20 years of experience in the restaurant business, Justin started as a dishwasher while in high school and quickly moved into cooking which he has done in several styles ranging from steakhouses and fresh seafood to catering and events. Justin moved into the front of the house while pursuing a Bachelors degree in the early 2000’s and quickly fell in love with wine. Realizing he had a passion for hospitality and a knack for creating memorable pairings and experiences Justin now saves his cooking skills for friends and family and is focused on bringing fantastic wines of varied and often uncommon styles for those looking to be transported out of the booth and into the vineyards. Hailing from New Haven Connecticut, Justin came to Austin in early 2016 after running the beverage program at the historical Mory’s Assoc. on the campus of Yale University for the previous four years. Quickly landing at Juliet as a server he slowly began working with the wine program and helped transition the list after the re-concept. Justin became Beverage Director in November of 2017 and quickly began putting his mark on the wine list. It was at this time that he also began pursuing credentials through the Court of Master Sommeliers, passing the first level in October of 2018 and then the Certified Level in June of this year. As you can imagine Justin loves meeting new and recurring guests of the restaurant and would be thrilled to talk about your favorite wine or make a recommendation from Juliets ever-changing wine list.
